Conviction / Primes and Integrators
KBR
KBR Inc.
conviction
KBR provides engineering and technical services to government agencies and is splitting itself into two companies, with the national security and space arm to be named Trinzic in January 2027. Revenue grew only 2 percent last quarter and its largest new contract is being contested, so the split is the main reason to be interested.
What we judge
The view on expected return from here, 0 to 100.
Whether the thesis could succeed without this company at all. This moves slowly, and only when the company's position genuinely changes.

Why it is in the fund
Thesis
Defense engineering and technology services; space systems integration, military base sustainment, and autonomous systems test infrastructure.
Standing judgment
KBR is a government services and systems engineering business selling expert labor and integration hours, which sits alongside the thesis rather than inside it; it does not own a product, an autonomy stack or a production line. The January 2027 separation of the Trinzic mission technology business is a real catalyst and the stock is 29% below its high, but Q2 revenue grew only 2% and the $8B NSF Antarctic award is still stuck in protest and not in backlog.
What changed, and why
Every move in this number carries the reason it moved. A score does not change without new evidence.
